Semax

Semax is a short peptide based on a fragment of ACTH, a stress-related brain hormone, modified to act on the brain rather than the stress glands.

It's studied in cognitive research — nerve protection, attention, and recovery after brain injury in lab models.

Russian clinical reports described faster recovery after stroke. Outside of that, evidence is limited and not established.

Semax is approved in Russia for stroke and optic nerve disease. It is not FDA-approved in the U.S.
